Can you cut and program a key without the car present?
Usually no. Programming normally requires the vehicle. Some basic cutting can be done without it, but immobiliser programming needs the car.
Can you make a replacement key if the car battery is flat?
Yes, but we need Charge the Battery first before we can program a new key. Tell us on the phone if the battery is flat so we have everything and you have given us the heads up.
If my key is lost, do I need to change the locks?
No, Locksmiths can make a key to the lock, This is cheaper than changing your locks.
Do replacement keys come with a warranty?
Yes. Replacement keys come with warranty for genuine faults. Warranty doesn’t cover physical damage water, impact, crushed key, or your dog chowing the key.
Will the new key work the same as the original?
That’s the goal. We match the correct key type so it starts the car and performs the functions you need.
Will the replacement key start the car and operate central locking?
If your original had remote buttons/smart functions, we can usually supply a key that does both (vehicle dependent).
Can you help if the ignition barrel is damaged or won’t turn?
Yes. We can often repair/replace the ignition or work around the issue depending on the vehicle.
Can you help if the key is stuck in the ignition?
Yes. This can be ignition wear, steering lock tension, or key damage. We can diagnose and fix it.
Can you replace keys for Japanese cars (Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, etc.)?
Yes commonly done. Exact process depends on key type and year.
Can you make a key for a work ute / van (HiAce, iLoad, Ranger etc.)?
Yes. Commercial vehicles are a big part of mobile key work
Do you need the car’s VIN number to make a key?
Sometimes. Many jobs can be done without it, but VIN can help confirm the correct key type and system for your car.
My remote unlocks the car but won’t start it, what does that mean?
Usually the remote is paired but the transponder immobiliser chip inside isn’t working or the chip is missing or damaged. Which happens often because keys get thrown around.
Can you supply and program a push button start smart key?
Yes. The car and the security system’s type determine availability and programming service we offer.
Can you program keys bought online eBay Amazon?
If it’s the wrong frequency or chip type, it won’t work and you wasted your money.
Internet bought car keys are a mine field, looks the same key but is completely wrong.
Will the replacement key start the car and operate central locking?
If your original had remote buttons/smart functions, we can usually supply a key that does both (vehicle dependent).
Can you clone my key instead of programming it?
On some vehicles yes. On others, cloning isn’t possible or isn’t the best option.
What should I do right now if I’ve lost my only car key?
Keep the car secure, don’t force locks, and call us with make model year + location. We’ll advise the fastest solution.
Can you make a key if the key is stolen?
Yes. We can often supply a new key and (where supported) delete the stolen key from the vehicle.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
For Domestic Locksmithing Yes for Auto Sometimes. It depends on distance, time, and job type. We’ll tell you before dispatching.
Do you do roadside call-outs after hours?
Depending on availability, yes. Call and we’ll tell you what we can do today/tonight.

Description: For push-button start cars. Lets you unlock and start the vehicle when the key is nearby (proximity key).
Optional extra line:
Required for vehicles with push-button start a standard key won’t work. Must be a Smart key for your car.
