1. Standard Key: The standard key is a traditional key that is manually inserted into the ignition to start the car and turned to activate the engine. It doesn’t typically have remote control features for locking and unlocking the doors. It’s a basic and reliable option, commonly found in older models.

2. Remote Key: Remote keys, also known as key fobs, come with buttons that allow you to remotely lock and unlock the car doors. These keys use radio frequency signals to communicate with the car’s central locking system. Remote keys are a more convenient option compared to standard keys as they eliminate the need to manually insert the key to unlock the doors.

3. Transponder Key: Transponder keys contain a microchip embedded within the key’s head. This microchip communicates with the car’s immobilizer system. The car will only start if the transponder chip is recognized by the car’s system, adding an extra layer of security. Transponder keys are common in modern vehicles to prevent unauthorized ignition.

4. Smart Key (Proximity Key or Keyless Entry): Smart keys are the most advanced type of keys offered by Hyundai. They allow keyless entry and push-button ignition. As long as the smart key is within proximity of the car, you can unlock the doors by touching the handle and start the engine by pressing a button. These keys use sensors to detect their proximity to the car, making it a convenient and modern option.

5. Keyless Go (Advanced Smart Key): Keyless Go takes the convenience of a smart key further by allowing you to start the car without pressing any buttons. As long as the key is inside the car, the engine can be started by pressing the brake pedal and the start button. This is a more advanced version of the smart key system.

Hyundai offers different key types across their models, and the availability of each type might vary based on the specific model and trim level. The type of key your Hyundai comes with depends on the features and technology offered in that particular vehicle.

Hyundai Car Keys

Aftermarket Hyundai or Kia car keys with remotes are not that expensive.

A lot of the aftermarket remote car keys are actually better than the original ones from Hyundai.

Don’t break, buttons ware much better & cost is cheaper, and the biggest thing is quality. (Better made)

Our aftermarket remote keys also use the most common battery which you can get any ware like Coles, the battery is called CR 2032 (watch battery)

You can also get aftermarket remote keys that look the same or you can get a better designed flip key remote, which is what we will normally give our customers.

All of our iload locksmith vans use aftermarket keys.

Our van keys get used many times a day, especially the central locking buttons on the remote keys.

Our van keys get put in tool boxes, dropped  & they get the torcher test to say the least.

Generally speaking our van keys last about 3 or 4 years, before we replace them,

but normal use you should get 8 to 10 years depending on how they are treated.
